Whakapunake

Join the Gisborne Canoe and Tramping Club for this FREE walk. The course starts up the Translator Road to the southern trig of Whakapunake, then completes the round trip by walking down the long ridge on Mahurangi Station. With about 18 km walking and 750m altitude, this is a relatively challenging day trip, especially with shortening late autumn days. The high Whakapunake ridge is an exceptional view-point on a clear day.
