About the event
Psychological First Aid is a simple, yet powerful way of helping someone in distress, so they feel calm and supported in coping with their challenges, whether it’s personal, work related or affects the whole community.
Participants will:
Understand what Psychological First Aid is and isn't.
Become familiar with distress reactions - what can cause distress, what factors can influence the different ways people respond and recover from distress, and how distress differs from stress and mental illness
Have tools to manage our own wellbeing whilst supporting someone in distress
Provide PFA using ‘The Five Elements’ and the action principles.
